I am not one to leave reviews, but after my experience today, I JUST HAD TO!! My first dentist appointment with Dr. Holmes and staff was epic!!! The office is beautiful and inviting and my experience and they way my teeth were examined are cared for was just amazing. Z, was hilarious and she made me feel at home!!! I never experienced anything like this before at my previous dentist! I felt like a patient 🤗 I’m so excited I did my research and came across this place!
Heaven Sent! This is the most AMAZING place and dentist ever. I suffered severe ‘trauma’ as a child at the hands of a dentist and was literally TERRIFIED of the dentist office. I was so bad that I nearly got kicked out of the service because I wouldn’t go to the dentist (leading to a FORCED visit escorted by MP’s = more trauma). I truly believed I would die with a mouth of rotted and decaying teeth. That all changed when I finally decided to seek help. I looked on-line and prayed for a dentist that could deal with all of my anxieties AND PTSD. Doctor Holmes and her staff are AWESOME! They worked with me to develop a treatment plan and literally held my hand at some points in the process. Fast forward to today (see photo). I can now walk into that office with minimal anxiety knowing that I am in wonderful , caring, compassionate, and EXTREMELY TALENTED hands of Dr. Lakisha Arif-Holmes at Mayfair Family Dentistry. Great family dentist need to be more consistent in mask requirements with other patients I came in with my kids and I was not wearing a mask was told mask required but seen 2 people walk in no mask and checkin and never was not told by noone they needed to wear mask.

People have been trying to align crooked teeth for thousands of years. The first recorded attempt at straightening teeth on a living person was by a Roman, Aulus Cornelius Celsus. He used his own hands to try to move his teeth and, surprisingly, documented some success. Devices similar to mouthguards were later used to straighten teeth, then eventually metal wires and brackets were designed. Orthodontics has come a long way over those first early attempts.
It’s possible that orthodontic treatment will result in slight changes to the appearance of your face. Once your bite is adjusted, it can affect the appearance of your jaw, especially in younger patients. Realigning teeth can also sometimes change how your lips look, making them appear slightly more or less full.
